A short academic situation and a set of questions. Transfer and inference, not a fact dump.
What APS India currently asks for
In the introductory phase the subject module for the APS process is the General Academic Module. Some master’s programmes (Battery Science at RWTH Aachen, Data Science at Göttingen) also offer or require a field module. Unless a programme tells you otherwise, prepare the general academic paper — a passage, then single-choice questions that ask what the text claims, what follows, and what it does not say.
How the items are built
Official notes describe a typical problem plus related questions. You need the knowledge of a competent graduate reader: sampling, incentives, what a control is, what a limitation is. You do not need the lecture notes of a specific bachelor’s course. If an option is true in the world but not supported by the passage, it is wrong.
A reading order
Read the questions first, then the passage, then the questions again. Underline names of claims (“the authors warn”, “critics reply”). The attractive wrong answer is usually a sentence from the passage attached to the wrong agent, or an extreme version of a modest claim.
